Wow, given that Australia doesn't have "sperm banks" and certainly not in the 80's this seems to be a rather tall tale. Fertility clinics Australia wide do not, and again not in the 80's either, pay a sperm donor beyond anything other than validating their parking. I think it is sad that a story like this is being published without even basic research being done. Shameful example of journalism. Oh and I'm a fertility treatment nurse and Greek orthodox.

hi brothers dont believe on these peoples. they are operator of taxi.once they sponser you.then they will give you hard time. in 20 hours you can not make even 300 doller. i can gurantee you.
what ever you earn , these people will take half of your earning. and these people wont give you car if you are not driving full. by law you can work only 20 hours. thats all the story. i am giving you suggestion. its upto you , you follow it or denie it. these operator are blood sucker. they exploit you. dont play with your future.talk to the other taxi drivers in melbourne. why everyday
hundereds of driver quiting this job. and working in other industry.if you can earn good money in taxi , then why they working in 16 doller or 17 doller per hour job. can these operator explain this. not they cant,

Interesting how its "greek propaghanda" when all the CREDIBLE scholars around the world side fully with Greece. It is a dispute between FYROM VS the scholars around the world in the fields of history, science, archeology just as much as it is a dispute between FYROM and Greece's Macedonia..
In the long term academia always wins out over communist era propaghanda.

Thank you for writing about my brother. Just by way of correction. We are still awaiting (as at 03/04/12) autopsy results regarding his cause of death which was 8 March. He was 45 years of age. No funeral service was held for Hector but his body was cremated in Bulgaria. (There remains no facility for cremation in Greece despite legislation being passed in 2006 to allow it.) A number of musical memorial events have been held in his honour in Greece. A memorial is also planned for Melbourne in late April/early May although details are not yet available.

I work for the Australian Immigration and I think somebody is getting your hopes up high. You see, to get a visa to live in Australia, it works on a point system. Australia these days accepts educated / skilled English speaking citizens. I don't think driving a taxi is classified as 'skilled'. You will also need a sponsor. I have worked on a case where a sister was trying to bring her brother over and she couldn't, due to the lack of points.

Unless you marry somebody from Australia, I don't see how you will get permanent residency. Getting into the USA is much easier. I do believe Greek Reporter is a US based paper so they have no clue about the immigration system in Australia and the point system.
